Lloyd Welly - Headstock veneer

Ready to glue the truss rod, you can see ive masked off the truss channel to prevent glue getting in there and causing all sorts of heart ache.  Ive routed the channel to such a precision that i can lay a strip of 1mm ply on top of the truss rod, Ill plane it flush to the fingerboard surface when the glue has dried.

Clamping the truss rod in position as the glue dries.  Ive laid some paper over the top to prevent the clamps getting glued to the piece by any excess glue!

A couple of photos of the ebony headstock veneer that i prepared a earlier, clamped and glued.

The headstock shape drawn on to the veneer, ready to be shaped.  Its really important to have a straight square edge where it meets the fingerboard so that the nut will be a perfect fit between it and the fingerboard.
